valuable: adjective; of considerable use, service, or importance.

Earlier this week, ESPN showcased four teams and four contenders for this year's NBA MVP Award. Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder took on LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Then, the late game, featured Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers versus Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers in a inner-city battle for dominance and the Pacific Division lead. All four players are doing incredible things for their respective clubs; however, Paul is the one and only true MVP this season.

While LeBron James (left) and Kevin Durant (center) have been getting more attention, the true NBA MVP is Chris Paul.

The past two nights in the NBA have been very pleasant to watch. While I am a New York Knicks fan, I also happen to be a Los Angeles Lakers fan as well; and, the things Kobe Bryant has been doing to his opponents is nothing short of greatness.

It's been a whole year since the Miami Heat celebrated the signing of the Big 3 (LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade). It was an event like no one had ever see to celebrate hiring new employees to a company. However, unlike most other sport franchises, the Heat treat their employees, the special ones anyway, like more than just employees. Since the NBA season is over, the only thing to talk about is free agency; and this year's free agent discussion is circling around Dwight Howard. The talk has been there all season; but since earlier this week, when Howard stated clearly that he will not sign an extension with the Magic, the talk has intensified.

The NBA Finals are over and once again LeBron James is not on the winners podium. For some players, making it to the NBA Finals can be viewed as a great accomplishment; but for for a player who proclaimed a dynasty was in order before taking a single shot in a Miami Heat jersey, losing in the NBA Finals is a colossal failure.

It has just been announced that LeBron James will win his second consecutive MVP award. It takes a lot to even be considered in the discussion for this award, but I feel the criteria for which this award is judge needs to change.

So, LeBron James sent in paperwork to the NBA to get his jersey number changed from 23 to six. I know what everyone in Chicago is thinking, "This means that he is coming to Chicago and he wants to give up the number now before he arrives!" Of course, the legendary Michael Jordan wore number 23, but, I hate to have to bust your bubble Bull fans, but this change doesn't mean James will be packing up and going to the windy city.

So, the NBA trade deadline came and went last thursday, and some expectations happened like Cleveland getting Antawn Jamison, some expectations didn't happen like Amare Stoudamire staying in Phoenix; but something unexpected happened and that was Tracy McGrady going to New York.
