Last week, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, unveiled changes that will soon go into affect on Facebook. The major change is a feature called Timeline, which will drastically redesign users profile pages. It hasn't taken affect yet, supposedly in the next two or four weeks it will, but the home pages of Facebook have already been altered.

Many people wish they could press the dislike button on the new Facebook.

Like always, when people saw the redesigned home page, there was a loud uproar from users on Facebook and Twitter. The usual was said, "Why does Facebook keep changing things" and "Everyone on Facebook about to be on Twitter" and "I swear I'm never using Facebook again." While all these things and more were being posted on statuses and tweeted, nothing changed among the users.

The number of users remained at the 800 million and didn't dwindle to 799 million. Every time Facebook makes changes people complain and complain, but Facebook isn't going to take back its changes and people aren't going to stop using Facebook. So does it really make sense to complain?

I have been a user of Facebook for four years and I have seen it go through a lot of changes. On the web version and the app version, majority of the changes are usually better. Yet, whenever users hear Facebook will be changing, they act like it will be the worst thing to ever happen to social media; but, all Facebook continues to do is add more users.

Now, it's no secret as to why these changes are happening. While Myspace couldn't keep up, Twitter has found its own niche in the online social world and Google+ has features which would make one believe it could rival Facebook for the top social network spot. So, like any profitable big business facing tough competition, Facebook is making changes to stay ahead of the competition.

Through all the changes and upcoming changes, everyone has and will continue to use Facebook. Why? Because Facebook has become part of your daily routine. Everyone you know uses it and post things about themselves and you don't want to be out of the loop. Unless there's a mass exodus from all users worldwide, Facebook will continue to thrive.

Zuckerberg is a pretty smart guy. I really don't think he will do anything that may cause irrevocable damage to his billion dollar baby; and honestly, the new changes sound good in theory but time will only prove if that's true. I'm guessing the changes will benefit users and Facebook and all this hoopla will boil over and people will calm down.

At least until Facebook announces its next set of changes.

If you don't mind change and would like to experience this new Timeline feature for yourself, and not wait the two to four weeks, go to Mashable.com and follow the simple steps.
